my jw (converts of about 5 years) came over on thursday and ate a turkey dinner with us.
we didn't call it thanksgiving, but that was obviously what it was.
they were proud to give me my own copy of the new revised and improved nwt bible.

When will they be adding a comments feature so that questions can be posted for discussion?

And really? Using a verse from Galatians, written by Paul? Paul would have been a contemporary of Jesus, yet somehow never met him. His only "conversation" with Jesus was without any other witnesses. Paul didn't really seem to get along with the other "brothers" and never quoted the gospels. Paul never mentioned that Jesus performed any miracles.

so if you read thru my previous posts from years ago u can see a little background of my life.
to do a quick summary i was df'd at 19, got into the party lifestyle which included party drugs and lots of alcohol.
at 24 i decided to step bacdk and really try to get my life in order.
If my math is correct, you're about 26. If you're interested in "higher education" you're old enough to qualify for Pell grants and loans without considering your parents finances. Such was the case with me (being much older than 20s). And at the university I received free counselling.
Regardless of whether you're interested in more education, you need to look inside and learn about YOU. Forget the mind-control of the JWs and Mormons, what do you want out of life? What do you want your life to be like in 20 years? You don't really need to have it all figured out, just have some idea of the path and see what develops along the way... at least that's the way I've been doing it.
i'm not da or df and for some reason i can't bring myself to da just yet.
but i'm living in terror.
today it something came up that reminded me.

there are sound reasons for pioneering.. 1) it's the most satisfying work there is.. 2) you cooperate even more fully with the angels and the anointed [ which equals the gb/fds, not sister old mcsingletilldeath.].
Frankly, I think we pay more attention to the material after "waking up" than we did before, and more than most listen now.
The last that I was "in", I took assignments that would get me out of having to listen to most of the talks.
I think that most of the sheeple were busier checking out who was there, with whom, and wearing what, rather than listening to the same talks, again. Of course, most were also planning on what they would do AFTER the program, who they wanted to go to dinner with and where.
LOL.

a few weeks ago i got a visit from a sister from the old congregation.
she was our uber pioneer, fearless, regular and often accompanied by her husband, a ministerial servant.
she didnt know i lived here so it was a brief visit after she found out i had disassociated myself.. i got a knock at the door a few minutes ago and it was her husband this time.
